Animation
In 2022, I started learning Blender from watching YouTube tutorials online (as one does). Since then, the program has been my main artistic tool. I'm currently working on my grad thesis film, Tough Bird, a seven-minute short about a sad office pigeon.

Comedy Writing
Prior to animation, I wrote and performed sketch comedy as part of various teams across New York City. My films and animations have screened at comedy festivals that include the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival and Asian American Film Thing.
Jesus Take the Wheel (0:56)
A take on what happens when you ask Jesus to take the wheel, literally. Written and shot as part of sketch comedy troupe Plant Moms and screened at the 2022 Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival.
Anxious High-5 (1:38)

birds (1:01)
Two girl birds get mean. Voiced by sketch team members of Face for Radio. Screened at the 2021 Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival.
About Me
Hi! I'm Lisa Cheong. I'm a Brooklyn-based comedy writer and 3D animator who makes funny and bittersweet films.
My work is influenced by Jim Henson and The Muppets and my aesthetic has been described as bright, cheeky, and playful.
Currently, I am working on a 3D animated short called Tough Bird, which follows an office pigeon who feels overlooked at work and falls prey to a toxic male bird-influencer online. I have a history of writing and performing comedy across various theaters such as The People’s Improv Theater and Magnet Theater.
I hold a Visual Narrative MFA from the School of Visual Arts. When I'm not working, I can be found at the archery range trying to shoot a perfect ten.
